Imperial Marsh Preserve

The Imperial Marsh mitigation site is on Lee County Conservation 20/20 lands located in Section 21, Township 46 South, and Range 27 East in Lee County, Florida. Corkscrew Mitigation Bank and Imperial Marsh Southwest Florida International Airport mitigation lands are located adjacent to the site. BEC developed a mitigation and management plan for the site. The plan includes improving panther habitat and enhancement of wetlands primarily through exotic plant control. The enhancement activities included both mechanical and hand removal of exotics. BEC is currently coordinating on the implementation of the plan and monitoring the results of the enhancement activities.
