Fichter's Creek Restoration

The Fichter’s Creek Restoration project includes a project area of 53.41± acres. The project is located within portions of Section 18, Township 43 South, Range 27 East, in Lee County, Florida. More specifically, the project site is located in North Fort Myers, within the State owned and Lee County managed, Caloosahatchee Regional Park. Boylan Environmental Consultants developed a restoration plan to provide ecological and hydrologic restoration, through improved hydro-periods, water quality, and exotic removal with native plantings. There is a nesting pair of Audubon’s crested caracara on the Park site. BEC is coordinating with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to obtain guidance on management details for this species.
