Alico Road Widening

The project includes the widening of the existing Alico Road. The plans called for the addition of approximately 25 feet of ROW and the construction of an additional 4 travel lanes, medians and water management facilities. A swale was constructed from the road to the Briarcliff ditch to provide an adequate outfall for the water management facilities.

The project is necessary to meet the traffic demands of the area. The road was two lanes that were heavily traveled. The improvements greatly added to the level of service, hurricane evacuation, travel times, improved emergency vehicle response time, and the travel safety of the road.
