Three Oaks
Parkway Extension
~ Daniels Parkway to Oriole Road

The project includes the construction of a four lane divided road between Daniels Parkway and the future Three Oaks Parkway extension that is to extend from Alico Road to Oriole Road. Once completed the Three Oaks Parkway extension will a help with traffic congestion and will give drivers another north-south roadway that extends from Lee County to Collier county. The project is located in Sections 22, 27, and 34, Township 45 South and Range 25 East, and Section 3, Township 46 South and Range 25 East, in Lee County, Florida. A number of factors were taken into consideration in locating the project. One design constraint was the requirement that the south terminus intersect with the proposed Three Oaks Parkway extension that is to extend from Alico Road to Oriole Road and a future overpass to allow access to the Southwest Florida International Airport. A bridge design was also needed to cross the Briarcliffe canal at the southern end of the alignment. The north terminus needed to connect to the existing Fiddlesticks Boulevard while trying to avoid any existing residential and environmentally sensitive areas. Another factor to consider was the ongoing expansion project of adjacent Interstate 75 from four lanes to six lanes. The road has been designed with the ability to construct two additional lanes in the median for a total of six lands. In addition to assisting with the road design and alignment BEC also conducted protected species surveys of the alignments, located wetlands, assessed wetland impacts, and is working to secure environmental permitting from the South Florida Water Management District and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.
